Measurable ResultsResults have been dramatic! In one study by the Bolivian Government, teenage pregnancy, drug abuse, and truancy were down by as much as 80% when compared with schools that did not use the Mission Generation curriculum! God has used Mission Generation as a highly effective change agent to prevent substance abuse and the subsequent downstream human tragedy of suicide, delinquency, teen pregnancy, gang participation and truancy. Children, adolescents and young adults share the principles and values they've learned in school with their friends and family members at home. The result, these young ambassadors become change agents greatly multiplying the impact of the program! Mission Generation deals with the very complex socioeconomic issues that fuel alcohol and drug abuse. Mission Generation's approach not only takes into account the multifaceted factors of substance abuse, but recognizes the importance of cultural issues as well. School superintendents, principals and teachers have informed us that without exception the schools using Mission Generation's curriculum have had less truancy, drug problems, teenage pregnancies and gang participation. In addition the students also had better grades over all. The primary reason attributed to these results is that the kids are motivated to stay in school because it has become associated with their purpose. Attendance in school has lead to better grades and less time for delinquencies. The students had better attitudes toward their classmates and school assignments and were more respectful to the teachers and staff. Disease has been reduced through heightened awareness of nutrition, hygiene and STD. Interpersonal and family relationships have improved through gender and sexual education and poverty has been reduced through applied economics. It is easy to see why "the system" likes our curriculum.
